ation of the Luxembourg Fund Industry returns to New York with the ALFI Ro
adshow on 22 May, one focus will be on alternative funds and their success
in Luxembourg. The Grand Duchy, initially renowned as the preferred domic
ile for UCITS, has built upon this experience and know-how and succeeded i
n replicating its UCITS achievements, developing an impressive track recor
d in alternative investment products.\nInvestors and asset managers alike
value the bespoke structures possible in Luxembourg, which range from hedg
e funds and funds of hedge funds, private equity vehicles to real estate f
unds, set up under tried and tested regimes such as SICAR and SIF as well
as the Reserved Alternative Investment Fund (RAIF) and limited partnership
structures.\nThe latest editions of the annual ALFI surveys on the develo
pment of AIFs in Luxembourg show an increase of assets under management (A
uM) in Luxembourg private equity funds of 20% in 2018. They also see AuM i
 n Luxembourg-domiciled loan funds reach &euro\; 49 bn, a 23.5% increase ov
er the previous year, reflecting the strong momentum of non-bank financing
across Europe and beyond. In the field of real estate, Luxembourg is conf
irmed as the prime location for multi-geographical and multi-sectoral regu
lated REIFs, which continue to attract institutional investors and fund ma
nagers from around the world.\nThe roadshow agenda will reflect this conti
nued trend and take a close look at private market strategies on the rise.
Other topics will include distribution in Europe and beyond, sustainable
investing and operating models for management companies.\n\n--- This iCal
