LACC Mission Delegates enjoyed a wonderful dinner hosted by Mr. Camille Nicolas Fohl, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Romain Wehles, Executive Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee of Spuerkeess. This very special evening took place on October 18th at the bank headquarters located in the historic former ARBED building built in 1922 (photo above).

Since its foundation in 1856, Spuerkeess, the State and Savings Bank, Luxembourg, fully owned by the Luxembourg State, has been deeply enshrined in the fabric of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. The statutory mission of the Bank consists of promoting savings, facilitating access to housing, and supporting the economic and social development of the country.

Today, Spuerkeess, is the leader in both retail banking and domestic SME markets in Luxembourg, and as universal bank also in providing bank services to institutional clients. The Bank is recognized well beyond the borders of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Given its size and the economic importance for Luxembourg, the Bank is considered significant in the frame of the European single supervisory mechanism (SSM) and as such, is one of the 107 banks in Europe being under direct banking supervision by the European Central Bank.

The international rating agencies have awarded Spuerkeess AA+ (Standard & Poor's) and Aa2 (Long term Deposit Rating, Moody's) ratings.

In 2022, Spuerkeess recorded a banking revenue of EUR 754 million, a net profit of EUR 235 million with a total balance sheet of 57 billion. A staff of 1,843 employees supported the activities of the bank. Spuerkeess received the titles of "Luxembourg's Best Bank 2022" from The Banker and "Luxembourg's Best Investment Bank & Sustainable Finance 2023" at Global Finance's Sustainable Finance Awards.
