The Luxembourg-American Chamber of Commerce in the United States is pleased to partner with the Belgium Chamber of Commerce in order to provide our LACC member companies with an access to the Exchange Visitor Program and J1 Visas.

The Belgium Chamber of Commerce is a designated U.S. State Department sponsor of the Exchange Visitor Program. The Exchange Visitor Program was established by the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961 as described in the Federal Regulations at 22 CFR Part 62.

BelCham is authorized by the State Department to sponsor eligible Interns and Trainees on a J-1 visa by issuing the Certificate of Eligibility, Form DS-2019. With this document, a foreign candidate with the offer of an internship or training program from an eligible company in the United States may apply for a J-1 visa at the American Embassy in Luxembourg.

The J-1 visa allows participants in this program to come to the United States for up to 12 months as Interns or for up to 18 months as Trainees for full-time, paid exchange programs at eligible LACC member companies.

Prior to submitting an application, please read the J-1 Visa Requirements and contact the LACC via email for other program information. To verify your company’s eligibility to host intern/trainees, please contact us via email.

Please note: BelCham staff is available for further information on the J-1 visa. Staff is also pleased to meet with potential J-1 candidates if needed, but on an appointment basis only. For any specific questions, or to set up an appointment, please email icdp@faccnyc.org.
