Steve Maggi was born in Argentina and raised in New York City, studied broadcast journalism and history at UNC-Chapel Hill and then law at Georgetown University. A U.S. immigration and consular law attorney with over fifteen years of experience, Steve founded SMA Law Firm with the mission of helping foreign nationals achieve their unique version of the American Dream.


Under his direction, SMA provides comprehensive U.S. immigration and consular law services, including assisting U.S. businesses sponsoring foreign nationals for employment, entrepreneurs establishing U.S. start-ups, foreign companies expanding operations to the U.S., and family-based petitions and humanitarian cases. On the consular side, Steve has represented clients at over 70 U.S. embassies and consulates in their visa and waiver application processes and has processed hundreds of E-2 Treaty Investor visas, including petitions filed at the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg.
