Biography
Jake Heyka is a lawyer in the investment management practice of the law firm Schulte, Roth + Zabel LLP. He advises clients on the setup, structuring, and management of investment funds with a focus on cross-border transactions. Jake previously worked as an investment funds lawyer at King & Spalding LLP (New York) and as an international tax lawyer at Ernst & Young LLP (New York) and Stibbe Avocats (Luxembourg). Prior to practicing law, Jake was an academic with Prof. Allison Christians who is the H. Heward Stikeman Chair in Tax Law at McGill University’s Faculty of Law. Additionally, Jake is a member of the advisory board of a multimedia focused NGO called DAWNING based in Washington DC, which applies social science research techniques to reporting on issues identified by IGOs such as the World Bank and IADB.
Jake graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Law in 2017 with the BCL/LLB and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA (High Honors) majoring in International Studies and Political Science with an African Studies minor.
